There are two ferry companies running cruise services on the Helsinki and Stockholm route: Viking Line, the Finnish company, and Tallink Silja Line, the Estonian shipping company. The Viking Line rates are usually cheaper, but their ships are older and smaller compared to Tallink Silja Line ferries. However, the Viking Line has a great dinner buffet and their terminal is almost in the Stockholm city center. We sailed from Helsinki to Stockholm on the Tallink-Silja line and enjoyed it. The boat sailed at 5 p.m.
