Odysseus visited Tiresias on the underworld threshold. Teiresias tells Odysseus about the rest of his journey home to Ithaca, the suitors and their defilement of Odysseus' home, and how to placate the god Poseidon, who is still angry with the hero for blinding his son Polyphemus. Tiresias comes to Oedipus against his will, not wanting to explain the meaning of the oracle to the king, but he goes freely to Creon in Antigone, with news of his own augury.
